We’re often asked whether we have a Teaching Assistant Planner or if we’d ever consider creating one in the future…
And the answer is yes we do but we just don't call it a Teaching Assistant Planner, we actually have two planners perfect for teaching assistants!
Read on to find out why 👇
Why don't you make a specific Teaching Assistant Planner?
Here at TPTC, we truly appreciate the value of teaching assistants and the incredible work they do every single day. Teaching assistants play such an important role within schools, supporting pupils academically and emotionally, helping classrooms run smoothly and often being the calm, consistent support that children (and teachers!) rely on throughout the school day. Their role is incredibly varied, and the impact they have on both students and teachers is huge.
However, we don’t currently have plans to create a dedicated Teaching Assistant Planner and there are a couple of reasons for that.
One of the main reasons is that the role of a teaching assistant can vary hugely between schools, settings and year groups. Responsibilities, schedules and day-to-day tasks often look very different, which means it would be difficult to create one planner that genuinely works for everyone.
For that reason, our Daily Planners and Weekly Planners have been created with teaching assistants in mind, with flexible layouts that work well for a wide range of roles within education.
Rather than creating a highly specific layout, we wanted to give you the freedom to choose a planning style that works best for your role, routine and setting.
Which planner should I choose?

For teaching assistants, we’d usually recommend either our Daily Planner or our Weekly Planner.
Both have been thoughtfully designed to work flexibly around school life, making them ideal for teaching assistants and support staff whose days can often vary depending on interventions, classroom support, meetings, and responsibilities across the school.
Our Daily Planner is perfect if you like to focus on one day at a time and prefer having plenty of space to write detailed notes, tasks, reminders and schedules. Many teaching assistants find this especially useful when supporting multiple groups, moving between classrooms or keeping track of interventions and daily responsibilities.
- If you prefer to focus on your schedule day by day, our Daily Planner may suit you best.

Our Weekly Planner works well if you prefer seeing your full week at a glance. With hourly scheduling and weekly overview pages, it’s ideal for planning recurring routines, meetings, timetables and activities across the week while keeping everything organised in one place.
- If you like seeing everything across the full week at a glance, our Weekly Planner could be the perfect fit.

Many teaching assistants in our TPTC community also enjoy personalising their planners and using them for both work and home life, helping them stay organised in every area of their busy schedules.
Another option that may work well for teaching assistants is our Teacher Planner. It features a weekly layout, with each day split into six sections that can be used for lessons, periods or general time slots. However, please note that some pages included in the planner may not be relevant to a teaching assistant role.

Not sure a planner would work for you?

These include dedicated sections for:
- ideas
- to-do lists
- meeting notes
- plus plenty of general notes pages
They’re available in all 16 new designs and just like our planners, feature sturdy metal spirals, corner protectors and an attached elastic that matches your chosen design.
Alternatively, our extremely popular B5 Lined Notebooks are available now in our four pastel essentials colours. These smaller notebooks feature fully lined pages and will also be available in all 16 new designs.
Many members of our TPTC Community love picking up a few different designs and using each notebook for a separate purpose. For example, as a teaching assistant, you might use:
- one for class notes
- one for meeting or training notes
- and another for intervention groups
