Here we are with another Staffroom Surprise! A few weeks ago, we headed down to Derby to surprise the staff at Carlyle Infant and Nursery Academy.
Celebrating Carlyle Infant and Nursery Academy
We travelled from Bradford to Derby to celebrate this wonderful school for being a positive, supportive workplace led by a headteacher who truly prioritises staff wellbeing. The school was nominated by Corinne, the Reception teacher at Carlyle Infant and Nursery Academy, who told us:
“We are a small school within our trust. Teachers take on one or more subjects to lead, which just adds to an already big workload – but no one complains. They provide an excellent curriculum for the children and ensure everything is amazing, always having the children at the centre.
Our Head is fantastic! She has no deputy and runs the school brilliantly. It’s such a happy place to be and the whole team works hard to support one another. It would be amazing to acknowledge everyone’s hard work!”

We’ve done all sorts of surprises so far but for Carlyle Infant and Nursery Academy we chose to treat the team to a special breakfast spread for their morning break. It was such a lovely opportunity to slow down, share a moment together and say a genuine thank you.

Our Staffroom Surprise Initiative
