At TPTC, we’re all about bringing the positivity. Teaching is a fantastic job, but often a difficult one, and we love getting to be a part of something that brings a little joy to your day. However, for those of you that find you need some extra support, we want you to know that there are people who can help with that. Education Support can offer lots of help, so they’ve written a post for us to share with you all here:
What is Education Support?
At Education Support, we are proud to be the only UK charity dedicated solely to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of teachers and education staff like you. We know that when you’re feeling supported and looked after, it reflects in the incredible work you do with your students.
We’re here to support you as an individual and to help schools, colleges, and universities create environments that foster better mental health. But we also know that change can’t always happen overnight, so we’re working on both immediate solutions and long-term advocacy to improve wellbeing across the education sector.
Thanks to the generous donations we receive and the partnerships we build with education organisations, we can offer you the support you need—whether that’s emotional, financial, or simply having someone to talk to who understands what it’s like to work in education.
How to find support as a teacher
If you’re feeling stressed, anxious, or just need to talk something through, our helpline is available 24/7. When you call, you’ll speak to a qualified counsellor who can offer confidential emotional support. Whether it’s managing difficult feelings, setting boundaries, navigating tricky work relationships, or even just venting, we’re here for you. Don’t wait for things to reach a crisis point—reach out whenever you need us. You can call us for free on 08000 562 561, or if you can’t get through, try 0208 987 6212.
We also know that financial worries can add to the stress of working in education, especially with the rising cost of living. That’s why we offer confidential grants to help you manage short-term money worries. If you’ve been working in education for at least two continuous years, you may be eligible for grants of up to £250 for food and travel to work, or up to £600 for household essentials like appliances or utility bills. You don’t have to pay any of it back, and our team is here to help you through the process. To learn more or to talk through your circumstances, you can reach our Grants Team at Grants.Caseworker@edsupport.org.uk.
A big thank you
Finally, we want to say a massive thank you to The Positive Teacher Company and to all of you who have purchased one of their planners to support our work. Your generosity is making a real difference in helping us provide vital support to teachers and education staff across the country.
(This year, we chose our Stationery Love design as our charity planner. Proceeds from the sales of this design went to Education Support! - TPTC)
Whether you need a listening ear or financial help, we’re here to support you. At Education Support, your wellbeing is our priority.
